Il grande portone del Santo Sepolcro a Gerusalemme è stato riaperto all’alba. La clamorosa protesta delle chiese cristiane presenti nella Città Santa e proprietarie di immobili si è chiusa, per il momento. O meglio, è stata sospesa quando si è aperta una linea di dialogo con il governo israeliano ed è stato messo per ora in un cassetto il progetto di legge presentato alla Knesset dalla deputata Rachel Azaria su complesse questioni immobiliari.
Sarebbe riduttivo descrivere

Exclusivity and Exclusion in Contemporary Jerusalem
I wish to start my talk on Jerusalem Without God inverting what Avishai Margalit wrote in 1991, at the time of the Madrid Conference. “Jerusalem has always had more history than geography”, he wrote. He was right, of course, as Jerusalem represents for all of us the archetype of urban and social space. The archetype of the Holy City on heart. And the archetype of the historical complexity in the Mediterranean.
But I wish to be provocative as much as I can
Non è tutta colpa di Donald Trump. Il presidente degli Stati Uniti poggia la sua decisione di trasferire l’ambasciata statunitense da Tel Aviv a Gerusalemme su un preciso atto legislativo del Congresso americano, approvato nell’autunno del lontano 1995. Ed è dunque nel cuore della politica di Washington che vanno cercati i responsabili di una decisione improvvida, dissennata, priva di quell’equidistanza necessaria per spegnere le micce in Medio Oriente. È tutta colpa di Trump, invece, la decisione di gettare la questione di ‘Gerusalemme capitale d’Israele’ in un Medio Oriente che è già campo di battaglia. Con tutte le conseguenze che si prevedono a tavolino, e quelle che nessuno – a Washington, a Tel Aviv, a Ryadh, a Bruxelles – può prevedere o dare per scontate.
Cominciamo, però, da quello che a buon diritto possiamo definire il casus belli.
In principio fu il Jerusalem Embassy Act
Il cosiddetto Jerusalem Embassy Act ha una lunga storia,
E così è ufficiale. Israele ha fatto partire la procedura per chiudere l’ufficio di Al Jazeera e revocare il permesso stampa della tv del Qatar, la prima tv panaraba nella storia dei media della regione. Lo ha confermato il ministro delle comunicazioni, Ayoub Kara. Chiusura non imminente, ha precisato alla Reuters, perché l’iter avrà bisogno di tempo.
Confesso un dolore, e una impotenza. In questa stagione di violenza, a Gerusalemme, gli agnelli sacrificali sono quasi sempre giovani. Ragazzi. E’ successo anche ieri. Tre ragazzi palestinesi ammazzati per mano israeliana, rispettivamente da un colono, la polizia di frontiera, l’esercito. Palestinese il ragazzo che ha ucciso tre coloni israeliani dentro un insediamento in Cisgiordania.
Riesco a malapena a sopportare la vista di quelle foto, bei ragazzi, istruiti, nella toga che si indossa nella cerimonia per il diploma di maturità. Il Tawjihi, meta ambita per le famiglie e i loro figli. La maturità, la porta di ingresso nel mondo. Quella porta di ingresso gli è stata sbattuta in faccia, ieri, per Gerusalemme. Per Gerusalemme, per una città che è allo stesso tempo casa e identità, terra e politica, appartenenza e sofferenza quotidiana.
Le immagini mostrano più delle parole, ormai da tempo. Mai, mai almeno negli ultimi 15 anni, Salaheddin Street è stata così simbolica. La strada commerciale di Gerusalemme est, la strada che conduce a una delle Porte della Città Vecchia meno conosciute ma più frequentate dalla popolazione palestinese. Salaheddin street, la strada che finisce, proprio accanto alle Mura antiche di Solimano il Grande, con il posto di polizia israeliana e l’ufficio postale dove (senza alcuna privacy) i palestinesi di Gerusalemme votarono nelle elezioni politiche del 2006. Salaheddin street, la strada più vivace di Gerusalemme est, è diventata stamattina una moschea a cielo aperto. Le immagini mostrano una strada piena di fedeli, giù fino in fondo, fin dove può arrivare l’obiettivo.
Imagine a new paradigm for Israel/Palestine. Imagine today a new paradygm for Jerusalem. The Holy Places. How many hobstacles would you find?
These are few lines I wrote some months ago, after my recent journey in the Middle East and my visit to Jerusalem. I visited the Haram al Sharif, in November, and I met some of the leading religious Muslim figures. I walked on the same stones that where the tragic stage on the last attack on the Mosques’ Esplanade.

So, president Donald Trump revealed to the world the truth we (the Jerusalemite inhabitants) knew since years. The old fashioned diplomatic ipochrisy left room to the rude untold truth.
The Two-State-solution as envisioned by the Oslo process’ architects is not anymore a comatose patient: it is already dead and buried under the Israeli Colonies’ enterprise Avalanche.
